Bottom line:

  • The buyer says they will pay for tooling, then run bulk under Trade Assurance. Tooling, a deposit, a sample fee and the Trade Assurance order are four payments. A Trade Assurance dispute will not cover this steel tool.
  • Paying is not owning. If you do not write ownership, storage, changes and whether another customer may use it, you will not match when the order splits. The platform has no unified mould percentage and no official 30%.
  • Private accounts, WeChat and cash stop. If you take the money, it goes to the Hong Kong corporate account, and you leave one line on the site. Membership still goes to ALIBABA.COM HONG KONG LIMITED.

The drawing is on WhatsApp. The buyer says: I will pay for the mould, you start, bulk will go Trade Assurance. The shop floor asks whether to load the machine today. Sales hears “the deposit arrived.” Finance asks which payment this is, and who owns the tool.

A payment before the Trade Assurance order exists is on deposits. How to write samples is on samples. How bulk runs is on first Trade Assurance. A short quota is on quota. This page only splits the tooling box: who pays, who owns, and how it stays apart from a deposit.

1. Do not fold four payments into “just start”

What they sayWhat the money buysDoes the Trade Assurance order cover it?
Tooling / mould / mould feeDevelopment, a steel tool, a fixture — sometimes one cavityUsually not. Write it separately
DepositA bulk prepayment, or a spoken “send 30% first”Not if the order is not open. See deposits
Sample feeA few pieces, not this toolIt will not write mould ownership
Trade Assurance order fundsThe bulk goods on that orderOnly the goods the order page names

A buyer who pays tooling often thinks the mould is theirs to collect, change or move to a second factory. A factory that pays tooling often thinks the mould stays forever and can serve other customers. Both sentences have to be written. Habit will not do.

2. Ownership, storage and changes can be written the same day

These lines are enough; you do not need a long legal draft first:

  • Who owns this tool: the buyer, the seller’s Hong Kong company, or a buy-out after a number of shots.
  • Where it sits: which factory, whether it can move, who pays to move it.
  • Who pays and who signs for a change, a repair, or a new tool when life is over.
  • If bulk never comes and only the mould was opened: refund, destroy, or ship the tool.
  • Whether this tool may make a similar part for another customer.

There is no official share. Thirty percent is their habit. The integer you quote is hours and steel for this tool, not a platform rule. Do not write “Alibaba.com requires 30%” into the quote.

Ownership agreed off-site must be written back onto the Alibaba.com thread. That is the offline-chat page. If it lives only on WhatsApp, the auditor and a dispute will not match the Hong Kong books.

3. The payee is still the Hong Kong company, not a private account

Tooling goes to the store-bound Hong Kong corporate account. Private accounts, WeChat and cash stop. A few days’ delay is cheaper than money landing in a departing salesperson’s account.

Membership, tooling and bulk funds are three remittance slips. Membership only goes to ALIBABA.COM HONG KONG LIMITED. Tooling and bulk go to your company. Corpable collects none of them.

If the invoice says “deposit” or “goods,” you will struggle later to prove this was tooling. The description follows the mould or development fee you both wrote. The currency matches the Hong Kong books.

4. How the inquiry can be answered

They writeA usable replyDo not write
I pay tooling, then Trade Assurance for bulk.Tooling and Trade Assurance bulk are two payments. Ownership, storage and what happens if bulk never comes go on the site before we cut steel. The bulk order is placed separately. We will open the mould; ownership later.
The mould is mine because I paid.Paying and owning are written separately. Please confirm who owns it, where it sits, and whether it can leave. Until that is written it is not a transfer. You paid, so it is yours to collect anytime.
Platform rule is 30% mould fee.The platform has no unified mould percentage. The amount follows the scope of this tool. It is not an official 30%.Alibaba.com requires 30% first.
Wire tooling to my WeChat / the salesman.Tooling goes to the Hong Kong corporate account. We do not take private accounts or WeChat.Send it to the salesperson’s card so we can start.

Do not write “free tooling” or “mould belongs to the buyer” on a showcase. You can say tooling cost and ownership are confirmed in writing by project, bulk runs on a separate Trade Assurance order, and the share is not a platform official price.

5. The mould is already being cut and ownership is still unwritten

  1. The same day, leave one line on the site: which tool this money buys, who owns it, where it sits.
  2. If a private account already received funds, stop the next payment, move it to the corporate account, and keep the slip.
  3. Do not merge tooling, a deposit, a sample and membership onto one remittance slip.
  4. Open the bulk Trade Assurance order separately. If quota is short, that is the quota page. Do not use tooling to “raise quota.”
  5. Anyone who offers to collect the mould fee, wants the master account, or promises an “official 30%”: stop.

The membership still buys the file and the showcases. Wire it to ALIBABA.COM HONG KONG LIMITED. Corpable does not collect tooling, store the steel, or promise the buyer will place bulk. Ownership follows what both sides wrote and what sits on the site. Do not write a share as a platform official price.

Questions teams actually ask

Does Alibaba.com require a 30% mould fee?

There is no such unified rule. Thirty percent is how many buyers talk about deposits, not a tooling clause. The share, whether they are buying development or this steel tool, and what happens if bulk never comes, must be written by both sides.

If the buyer paid the mould fee, do they own the mould?

Not automatically. Paying and owning are two sentences. If you do not write ownership, where it sits, whether it can be changed, and whether another customer may use it, you will not match when the order splits.

If tooling sits outside Trade Assurance, is it still useful later?

The platform handles that Trade Assurance order. A tooling payment outside the order needs a bank slip, a written purpose, and one line on the site. It does not become a Trade Assurance order and will not cover a bulk dispute.

Can tooling and membership sit on one remittance slip?

No. Membership goes to ALIBABA.COM HONG KONG LIMITED. Tooling is what the buyer pays your Hong Kong company for development or fixtures. Two payees, two slips.

May the showcase say “free tooling / mould belongs to the buyer”?

Not without matching written ownership. Free tooling will be read as you paying and them taking the tool. Ownership, storage and change costs go into the contract first.

Can Corpable collect the mould fee, or guarantee this tool will open bulk?

No. An advisor can sit with you on how to write ownership. We do not collect tooling, store the steel, or promise the buyer will place bulk. Membership still wires to Alibaba Hong Kong.
