The buyer wants OEKO-TEX: CE and REACH will not fill STANDARD 100

Bottom line:

When a buyer asks for OEKO-TEX, STANDARD 100 is a private test and label licence. The number can be checked on Label Check. CE and REACH will not fill that box.
GOTS and organic-cotton claims stay in their own boxes. Opening the store does not issue the certificate.
Institutes quote by project. There is no site-wide official price.

The inquiry says: “Need OEKO-TEX certificate / STANDARD 100.” Sales staples a REACH report, a CE and a Chinese “no harmful substances” note. The buyer replies that Label Check will not match. The shop floor asks whether to buy another textile paper or print a hangtag.

SVHC sits on REACH. EU conformity sits on CE. US children’s products sit on CPSIA. This page only splits STANDARD 100.

1. The paper they want is not sold by an EU bureau

An approved institute tests textile raw materials, intermediates, finished goods and accessories, issues a certificate and licenses the label. The certificate has a scope and a validity. Official text: the certificate is issued for one year. There is no window that sells a Union textile pass paper to a Hong Kong store.

First ask whether they want STANDARD 100, MADE IN GREEN or an organic claim. Retitling a baby-wear certificate for bag trims will be asked to match the article.

2. The certificate is for these articles, not “our factory passed”

The certificate covers the articles and accessories submitted. A new fabric, button or print is not covered by the old paper. A trading-company mixed order is harder still.

A Hong Kong company signs. The mainland shop floor builds. Scope still follows the certificate. You have to produce the number, article description, class, expiry, and a Label Check that matches.

Institutes quote by project. There is no site-wide official euro price. Do not lock an “official OEKO-TEX fee” into the unit price.

3. CE and REACH will not fill this box

CE answers applicable Union product law. Ordinary garments do not enter the Union on a CE paper. REACH asks about SVHC. STANDARD 100 is a private harmful-substance label. Three boxes.

Halal and BSCI stay on their own pages. Neither fills a label number.

5. If you already replied “we have OEKO-TEX”

Tell sales the same day: prices that say “certified” stop.
Open this order: STANDARD 100 or another scheme, and whether the article is in scope.
Keep CE, REACH and organic labels as their own papers.
Match the article and the lot. Do not hand the master account to an intermediary to “make a certificate.”
If the goods are already moving: send a number that checks. Do not invent one.

Is OEKO-TEX something you buy from the EU?

If we have CE / REACH, is OEKO-TEX done?

Does opening Alibaba.com on a Hong Kong company already give us OEKO-TEX?

No. The membership buys showcases. It does not test textiles or issue a label number. A Hong Kong letterhead will not cover this mainland lot of fabric and trims.

May the showcase say “OEKO-TEX certified”?
